Creative Outdoor Learning
Outdoor Culture is supporting schools in High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Bedford as they develop their practice in outdoor learning. With funding from Creative Partnerships www.creative-partnerships.com , the schools are aiming to use their grounds and local outdoor environments as creativity classrooms. One school, Naphill Walters Ash Combined School, is training staff as Forest School practitioners and employing artists to extend this practice with a focus on children’s creative intelligence. Outdoor Culture recently programmed an INSET day for its teaching team, featuring Sue Humphries MBE, Mathilda Joubert, Dean Soden and Athene Reiss. Alistair of Outdoor Culture worked full-time for Creative Partnerships from 2002 to 2008, and continues to support CP schools as a consultant to Creative Junction www.creativejunction.org.uk and the UK Centre for Carnival Arts www.carnivalarts.org.uk . Outdoor Culture also acts as an independent advisor to several schools in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. |
